In 2008 Hailsham Equestrian Club celebrated
30 years as an Afilliated Riding Club. Although a small club we manage
to run a variety of events including dressage, jumping, showing,
flatwork and jumping training, talks and organized visits during
the year to which both Junior and Senior members are encouraged to
attend.
We are conscious that members can have a non-horsey partner therefore we have a good social calendar which includes an Annual Dinner Dance, Car Treasure Hunt with BBQ and Autumn Barn Dance, as well as quizzes and other social events. As an affiliated club we are part of Area 10 of British Riding Clubs and members have the opportunity to represent us as individuals or in teams at Local, Area and – if successful – National level in all disciplines. Club members have been very successful over the years, winning the Quadrille in the 80’s and, more recently, taking National titles in Senior Hunter Trials, Indoor Show Jumping and Equitation Jumping as well as winning the Area 10 silver tray on four occasions and twice winning the team jumping at the Royal International Horse Show both as recently as 2004/05. We are a friendly Club and all members are encouraged to use their membership to the full.
